Newedge project

Implementation date: 2007

Product family: Services RMS
Product names: PACe permanent-access optical fibre cabling

Issues:

The Newedge company wanted to eliminate its reliance on copper pair cables (used for computer data transmissions). Their numbers were constantly increasing, requiring increasing numbers of cross-connections. The Services RMS solution proposed by ACOME allowed the entire optical fibre network, covering a total surface area of 5,000 m² on two floors, to be shared from a SINGLE centralising unit.

Area covered: 2,200 metres of PACe cabling, divided into 8 loops with approximately 100 distribution boxes.

ACOME solution:

ACOME’s Services RMS solution enabled new optical fibre cables to be connected to the existing cables in a very short time, without disturbing the users. The solution is particularly practical because its service points are configured via microswitches without requiring any work in the technical room.
