Eco design

Innovation plays a large part in ACOME’s sustainable development policy. Since 2006, the group has directly focused its long-term planning on eco-design, etc. This economic and environmental approach is demonstrated by the company’s ISO 14001 certification being renewed in 2008.

Environmentally-friendly innovation

ACOME’s analytical and testing laboratories provide its production units with year-round support and regular assistance. They ensure the quality of the company’s processes, materials and products. Their tests cover the mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical and environmental specifications of each product. This economic and environmental approach enables ACOME to manufacture high-performance, long-lasting and environmentally-friendly products.

Economics and ecology: the strength of eco-design

Eco-design places the environment at the very heart of the production process, from product design (or even enhancement) to end of life, through manufacture and use. In this case, eco-design consists in reducing the product’s environmental footprint throughout its life cycle while maintaining its usability and performance. The materials and components used in its manufacture, coupled with its operating conditions, are also designed to reduce its energy consumption. And every consumption reduction results in a similar reduction in the end-user’s energy bill. This significant cost benefit makes products designed in this way affordable to as many users as possible.

The ACOME commitment

ACOME, which is certified as ISO compliant, is now a recognised developer of environmentally-friendly products and processes.
The group makes a commitment to:

  • Guarantee that its products comply with the law and environmental regulations,
  • Seek to improve their environmental performance,
  • Reduce their environmental impact through selective waste disposal, reduced water and energy consumption, the elimination of liquid waste and the eradication of CFCs in order to protect the ozone layer,
  • Use research and innovation to help to protect and improve the environment,
  • Apply preventive and precautionary principles within itself.
