An answer to new Internet services for VOD, TVHD,…
and future applications

New Internet services (VOD, TVHD, etc…) and their future applications require high transmission rates. Optical fiber has established itself as an economical and long lasting medium among operators. Initially, deployment took place in high density cities.

To cut installation costs and fit into congested infrastructures, ACOME has introduced on the market innovative solutions for MDU’s, based on a patented concept of permanent accessibility. Over the last few months, Home-PACe solutions have been deployed among the main European FTTH operators like Orange, Sonaecom, or Telekom Slovenia,...

A patented ACOME concept, based on permanent accessibility

Home-PACe is based on the use of a range of cables offering permanent accessibility from 12 to 288 optical fibers. Working on a UNIQUE concept, the cables run through the staircases, the lift shafts or the vertical shafts common parts of the building so that optical fiber can be connected at any point to branch one or several subscribers by new junction boxes on the floors.

A seductive solution

The leading operators and installers have been immediately interested by Home-PACe.
Why?
  • By experience gathered since 2000 with the PACe concept, especially for LAN
    applications;
  • By reduced or postponed investments made possible by pre-wiring as close as
    possible to the users during the design of a NEW or RENOVATION project;
  • Home-PACe minimizes the cable lengths, make connections by floor, and decrease considerably the costs of installation;
  • By using only ONE cable in the rising section, the Home-PACe technique dispenses with the drilling into four slabs and make space in the frequently congested situation of the riser shafts;
  • The sound nuisances are also decreased for building residents, when new
    subscribers are installed or connected;
  • It is possible to mix together different types of splices in the junction boxes and the subscriber terminal connectors;
  • It is possible to add extra junction boxes to the floors as the demands come in;
  • The fiber will tolerate a tight bending radius for easy implementation;
  • Home-PACe handling is facilitated by the compact tube technology (up to 12 optical fibers by module) or by the use of 900µm monofiber;
  • This new range meets fire resistance requirements.

Tools

  • Opening tools designed specifically for the Home-PACe range simplify its implementation;
  • A standard stapler can be used for installing the cable.
