The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of optical cables from China to the European Union.
The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging between 19.7% and 44% on imports of optical fibre cables from China to the European Union.
It follows a complaint filed last June by Europacable, which provided sufficient information to lead the Commission to launch an investigation.
The initiative also echoed the alarm signal issued by Sycabel over the past year: the observation of a sharp fall in orders for fiber optic cables on the French market, at the same time as the rise in Asian imports.
These measures should allow our industry to resume its investment strategy to meet both growing demand and the challenges of digital transformation in Europe in a context of fair competition.
